The work
in Foul Flora, Weird Waves is made from beach bruck (rubbish).
The bruck is significant because, despite it's contribution
to pollution, it includes many fragments of people's lives. The
work is constructed out of bits of old plastic, fibre glass,
rope, netting, fish egg casing and other objects found whilst
beach- combing.
The constructions are added to with drawings, notes and
tags.
When we comb beaches, we ask ourselves questions like "Where
did this come from?", "Who wore it?", "Why
is it here?" and "What is it made of?" The
wave is a wonderful metaphor for life and time.
