Since 2003 Matilda has been working with her partner, Christopher Prendergast, and their three children, Josh, Theo and Erlend, under the collaborative name of Christil Trumpet.

Matilda is not currently working as solo art practitioner Matilda Tumim.

Matilda is an elected member of the Orkney Arts Forum, representing the Visual Arts.
